Child Rights Project (CRP) of UNICEF since 2011 to 2015-SARTHAK



The goal ofthe project is to create a society wherein to establish a favorable environment for the realization of child rights, empowering women and communities to improve living conditions in the rural settings of Mirzapur through self development process. The objectives of project were as following:

• Community mobilization on child rights
• Women empowerment and income generation through formation of SHGs
• Capacity building of stakeholders on child rights, health and sanitation and various government schemes.
• Advocacy on child rights for complete child development
• Supporting management information system
• Monitoring and Supportive supervision

Quest alliance-SARTHAK
Through this project rural poorgirls of Mirzapuris being benefited with career counseling and vocational guidance progarmmes andEnhancing the quality and relevance of education and work transitions of disadvantaged youth through knowledge creation, innovative action and supporting multi disciplinary collaborations. At least 400 students received the career counseling on the same and 800 are receiving through career club.

SIPFSA-SARTHAK
In Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur,SantRavidasnagar and Jaunpur through this training ANM, ASHA and AWW is trained on different kind of subject related to community/health.

WASH-SARTHAK
SARTHAK, Panchayati Raj & Education Departments have been implementing WASH in School (WinS) programme in Mirzapur under the "VidyalayKayakalp Project". This is a behavior change and infrastructure augmentation model for improved access to safe drinking, sanitation and hygiene for children in schools. The strategy was to improve hygiene behavior and in particular the practice of handwashing with soap leading to the reduction of two of the major causes of child mortality, namely diarrheal diseases and pneumonia, through the behaviour change steps of awareness, commitment, reinforcement and reward / recognition. The target groups were teachers and children of the age 6 – 16 years. The activities emphasized the importance of using soap at critical moments during the day (i.e. before eating and handling food, and after defecation) which should to washing away of and the resultant protection from germs, parasites and viruses.

JAN SHIKSHAN SANTHAN-SARTHAK
For the economical empowerment of rural poor women a capacity building training and skill develop training is organized in community of Mirzapur district, so that livelihood enhancement could be made and rural women live with self-reliance.

Nutritional Mapping For Influencer-SARTHAK
In association with Unicef nutritional mapping for influencer is done in rural community of mirzapur who will play an important role and will work as pool between rural community and health schemes of government.

HOBBY CLASSES
In Mirzapur and Varanasi district hobby classes are being run by SARTHAK for the dynamic development of adolescent girls and boys in community.

Indian Carpet export Promotion Council (CEPC) -SARTHAK
School are being run in Varanasi, SantRavidas Nagar and Mirzapur under the observation of SARTHAK funded by Carpet export Promotion Council for child laborers and those children whom family is living below poverty line and carpet industry is their main source of income.

ALLAHABAD BANK-SARTHAK
Under the project "Rural self employment training institute"(RSETI) most of the rural women are being benefitted by variety of training livelihood generation and enhancement. Sarthak engage all women connected with through another project.

SARATHI-SARTHAK
An project supported by Amar Ujala Hindi News Paper was being run by SARTHAK for Capacity building and Life Skill training for rural adolescent girls in Mirzapur.

AUBREY-SARTHAK
Under this project mobilization and enrollment of individuals for Atal Pension Yojna in association with Aubrey and Sarthak for State Bank of India in selected locations of Mirzapur is being implemented.

AMITY UNIVERSITY-SARTHAK
Sarthak is also engage in study with Amity University for the Development if handloom weaver in Varanasi.

Remarkable of SARTHAK:
1. A success story on ODF in Bhainsa village is casted by team Unicef and screened worldwide as an example. Influencer/Actor Shivangi is an adolescent girl of Garima Project who proved that nothing is impossible if decided. Additional Activities
Mirzapur:
1. Loom registration work done in MAJHAWA block of Mirzapur: Associate agency- (Carpet Export Promotion Council) CEPC.
2. Special Child Labour School was run at Madihan block (Mirzapur) in 2003 under the NCLP project.
3. Total sanitation campaign with UP government in 10 villages.ofMadihan block of Mirzapur.
4. Environment awareness programme are being run at Madihan block of Mirzapur.
5. Conducted One day district level workshop on IDD in Mirzapur district.
6. School health programme organised at BAAL SHIKSHA SANSTHAN, MUJEHRA (Mirzapur) with the help of UPVHA.

SONBHADRA:
1. In 2012 SARTHAK has successfully implemented a project in Sonebhadra district under Information Dissemination and Awareness Generation activities on Panchayati Raj and Rights and Entitlements of women in 30 GPs of Robertsganj Block of Sonebhadra District in coordination with UNDP.
2. Malaria eradication program in Robertsganj.

VARANASI:
1. In 2013 a comprehensive program related to Kill Pests to avoid the diseases like Malaria and Dengu conducted in eight slums of Varanasi with support of HIT- Godrej and facilitated Synergy Group. 2. Three NCLP Schools (funded by Labor Ministry of India) were being run in Varanasi from 1999. 3. Livelihood Promotion through SHG formation and linkage with financial institution. 4. Community Health Programme was organised with the help of UPHSDP in SEWAPURI block of Varanasi from 2002 to 2008. 5. Involvement in women entrepreneurship with Ruchi Art Gallery in initiative called 'hastkari' for income generation.
